My First Massage...

My first massage ever was at Whole Foods Market in San Antonio. My back was KILLING me! I was in excruciating pain.... you know, the kind that sends shooting pain down the back of your legs. My upper back was sore from the spasms in my lower which seemed to always spasm with every move I made

Because of the shooting pains going down the back of my leg, and the spasms in my back, I kept my shoulders hunched up. This happened every time I had a spasm, as if hunching them up was going to help. Well, it doesn't.
It only made things worse because then my neck and shoulders started to burn and hurt by the end of the day.

Before you know it, I had headaches, the type that starts on Monday with the sore shoulders and neck and creeps up the back of my neck until it reaches the base of my skull where it starts throbbing, and throbbing.

By Friday, I had a throbbing headache right behind my left eye, extending all the way back to that throbbing spot at the base of my neck. OYE! What a pain! I was a MESS and almost in tears.

Then I saw my salvation.

I was walking by this guy who was giving chair massages. He had just finished working on someone and when that person turned toward me, he had the look of total bliss on his face. I knew right then and there that's how I wanted to feel.

I got on the chair and by the time the Therapists was through I was completely PAIN FREE. I was amazed! Usually it took a bottle of aspirin and a six pack of beer to get even half the relief (the aspirin was for the next morning) ;-)

I never thought that something as simple, quick and easy could have such a profound effect on me. I went home and told my girlfriend about what happened.
